The 2011 Natick spelling bee to benefit the Natick Education Foundation (NEF) will take place at the Natick High School on Wednesday, May 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. The townwide spelling bee is one of the NEF’s major fundraising events. Here's how it works: Teams of three members spell through several preliminary rounds grouped in categories. For instance, there may be a category of Businesses, another of Realtors, another of PTO groups. And that's where the fun begins, as natural rivals face each other. The winner of each round then competes in a final round with all the other round winners, and a winning team is named. All participants will have the opportunity to study potential words in advance. There is no solo spelling; each team of three decides its response.
